5 Great Part-Time Jobs for Retirees (and others)

Kerry Hannon's  article, "5 Great Part-Time Jobs for Retirees" focuses on workers who are 65, the standard age for retirement and still want to work. They may need the money or, like 64-year-old Sue Walker, don't want to stop working entirely. On the other hand, many workers are forced into early, or involuntary retirement when they lose their jobs.

Kerry Hannon lists five part-time jobs for retirees, but these are good jobs for the unemployed. While they might pay alot, these jobs can be a short-term solution to help pay the bills and, most important, also help one's morale during the job search.

The 5 great part-time jobs are:

1. Librarian Assistant/Aide
2. Bookkeeper
3. Personal and Home-Care Aide
4. Handyman
5. Medical Assistant

Others

aarp.org provides a lot of useful information on a variety of topics. You don't have to be retired or 50-plus to take advantage of the web site or its job fairs.  In fact, quite a few younger adults, including  five men, came to an AARP job fair for women I attended.
